Monument/Raphael Lemkin
INTRODUCTION
Today, Armenia is an active participant in the international process for the prevention of genocides around the world and is committed to international principles of human rights protection as a fundamental condition for the prevention of crimes against humanity.
MONUMENT IN YEREVAN
Because Raphael Lemkin's huge contribution to the institutional protection of human rights and nations and the introduction of the legal term Genocide into international legal conventions, the NATIONAL CENTER Development Foundation in partnership with the Armenian Genocide Museum Institute and the Polish WSG University, initiated the creation and installation of the Monument in his honor in Yerevan.
The project to create a monument dedicated to Raphael Lemkin is significant for Armenia. The establishment of the Monument will powerfully convey the profound gratitude of the Armenian people. It will not only acknowledge his significant role in advancing human rights but also reinforce the importance of his legacy in promoting the protection of human life and memory for all of humanity. Such an installation will inspire dialogue and reflection on the need for continued vigilance against such crimes.
This Monument will boldly commemorate the remarkable legacy of Raphael Lemkin, a pivotal advocate for the recognition of the Armenian Genocide and other genocides worldwide. Also, this project to a Polish international lawyer will be a good platform for Polish-Armenian friendship and development.
